The 8.1 square mile township is a highly developed complex of residential subdivisions, industrial parks, contemporary headquarter offices, warehousing facilities, cemeteries and retail strip malls which stretch along Route 10 as it bisects the community.

The public school system is excellent with two elementary schools and a middle school operated by the East Hanover Board of Education.
